Filled with the wonders of history, Guernsey is full of historical sites such as Register Cliff and the Oregon Trail Ruts. Guernsey State Park, just a mile away, is home to some of the best Civilian Conservation Corp. work in the country as well as great activities like boating, swimming, biking and hiking.
Oregon Trail Ruts State Historic Site is a preserved site of wagon ruts of the Oregon Trail on the North Platte River, about 0.5 miles south of Guernsey, Wyoming
Register Cliff rises more than 100 feet above the North Platte River Valley south of Guernsey, Wyo. The area was the first night camp west of Fort Laramie for Oregon Trail travelers. Under the shadow of the chalky limestone bluffs on the south bank of the river, the emigrants paused to set up camp, pasture their animals and rest from the hardships of the trail.

Guernsey State Park provides seven campgrounds. Five are around the lake. All campgrounds include comfort stations, picnic tables, fire grills and drinking water.

Watch Dog Park is located at 98 So Guernsey Rd. It is across the road from Larson Park. Watch Dog Park was developed in 2023 and is a great place to take your dog to run and play!
Picturesque Hartville is one of the oldest incorporated towns in Wyoming established in 1884. It is located in Eureka Canyon – a small community six miles north of Guernsey on highway 270. Camp Guernsey Joint Training Center is designated as a Maneuver Training Center-Heavy (MTC-H). Multiple battalions can complete task force level training using a combination of live fire ranges and maneuver training land.
Old Fort Laramie, just 13 miles east of Guernsey, is the last place people could stock up on their way to Oregon. It still has most of its buildings and has great living history in the summer months. It is well worth a stop to walk the grounds that so many did on their way west.
